Congratulations to Kirsten Clark-Tipuna and Joseph Wickliffe on the arrival of our newest BOT member Mason. One week old Mason joined us at our meeting on Monday 14 May.
Andrew Hitchfield – Board Chair - Hi, I live in Papamoa with my wife, Lynda, and two sons Torben and Jack after escaping Auckland about seven years ago. Jack is currently year four at Tahatai. We are all members of the Papamoa Surf Life Saving Club and enjoy the lifestyle and activities offered by ‘The Bay’, including surfing, mountain biking, and of course the odd wine with friends. I am currently Group Manager – Northern Regions for TelstraClear and have been a member of the board of trustees for close to five years .
Sarah McKenzie – Finance - Hello, I’ve been living in Tauranga since the early 80’s and settled in Papamoa 10 years ago with my husband, Mike, and three sons Reece, Blair and Trent. I have been involved with the school since Reece moved in back in 2002 as a new entrant and am looking forward to Trent’s first day in a few years time. I expect the school will have changed considerably by then! We love the lifestyle in Papamoa and consider it to be a haven from the hustle and bustle of Tauranga. Community is especially important to us as a family and we spend most of our time living, working and playing in Papamoa. I am currently a police officer, specialising in Education, which means I get to spend a lot of time in the school environment.
Charlotte James – Staff Representative - I am the Assistant Principal at Tahatai Coast School and also am a mother of three children, two of which are currently attending our school. Its great to be working closely with a passionate team of parents and educators who are all striving to deliver the best for our children.
Jenny Griggs – Principal -Tena koe. By living in Mt Maunganui for 38 years, I am nearly a local. By being a foundation staff member of Tahatai Coast School, I am part of the furniture! My husband Lyle and myself, lead a relaxed lifestyle in this beautiful part of New Zealand, and enjoy spending time with our younger daughter who lives locally, as well as visits to and from our other children and grand children, who live across the Tasman. Lyle and I share a love of antiques, cooking and gardening, and when time permits, I enjoy immersing myself in a good book.
Rob Lemoto - Hi, my wife Kathryn and I have two girls, Anya and Ashlee. We have enjoyed the ‘beach lifestyle’ for nine years now after choosing to raise our family in the Bay having moved to Papamoa from Auckland. When I’m not relieving my wife as chief taxi driver for the kids who are involved in a number of sports and hobbies we occasionally find time to spend at the beach or relax with friends. This is my second year with the board and it has been extremely satisfying to see the number of Tahatai parents actively involved with their children and the school.
Mark Weaver - Hi my wife Sue and our two children Bradley and Kaitlyn are proud to be Papamoa locals – having been here for two periods of time over the last twenty years. We returned to Papamoa 7 years ago from a brief sojourn to Auckland. Through our children’s education and sporting activities we continue to support and be a part of our thriving community. I have been on the BOT at Tahatai for five years. I also currently serve on the Papamoa Football Club committee and coach the 14th/15th Grade junior team. In my spare time! I am General Manager of a Pharmaceutical distributor in Tauranga. Sue is a qualified beautician and tap dance teacher at the local Gillian Moore School of dance in east Papamoa.
