Excite, Explore, Empower. This vision describes the future the school community sees for itself, and what students at Tahatai are working to be like.
At Tahatai, our vision is for our tangata to be enthusiastic and excited about learning and teaching - eager to do their personal best and make connections. Our previous knowledge, values/beliefs, and cultural identity are valued and celebrated.
At Tahatai, our vision is for our tangata to travel through unfamiliar places in order to be challenged, take risks and learn. Our learning is inclusive and equitable - it enables all children and adults to learn, acknowledging global views and the values/beliefs of our whānau.
We use our knowledge and competencies to search, discover, investigate and inquire in order to learn and grow. Our Explorer Values and Skills are an important part of our local curriculum and something we are continually developing.
At Tahatai, our vision is to empower our tangata to become stronger, confident, creative and connected, so that they can thrive in today’s society and into the future. We see difference as something we can learn from and become more open and knowledgeable.
Our learning and teaching empowers us to take action, to progress, and to look to the future so that we can help our whānau and communities to thrive. In order for us to thrive, we believe there needs to be a healthy balance between our taha tinana (physical), taha hingengaro (mental & emotional), taha whānau (family & social), taha whenua (land & roots) and taha wairua (spiritual).
